Ambitions is wederom een sterke uitbreiding, jammer alleen dat niet alle professions even boeiend zijn, de toevoeging van drogers en wasmachines etc. vrij tergend en lame is en mijn pret compleet de grond in geboord werd door een constant crashende review-build. Kan ik die game daarop afrekenen? Alle technische problemen van The Sims 3 in ogenschouw nemend kan ik dat zeker. Die game is nog minder stabiel dan het pasgeboren, driebenige jong van een alcoholistische giraffe, en dat is niet cool.

Al vanaf de dag dat de eerste berichten over De Sims 3 Ambities op S3N verschenen hebben we nog nooit zoveel enthousiaste reacties gezien als bij elk nieuwtje over deze nieuwe uitbreiding. Maar heeft De Sims 3 Ambities, een maand na de release, kunnen voldoen aan al die hoge verwachtingen?
Wat later dan jullie van ons gewend zijn hebben we een 5 pagina’s tellende review van De Sims 3 Ambities voor jullie. Dat het wat langer geduurt heeft, heeft alles te maken met de grootte van deze uitbreiding. Er zitten zoveel nieuwe dingen in, dat we echt de tijd nodig hebben gehad om zoveel mogelijk voor jullie uit te proberen en te onderzoeken.
Het belangrijkste dat we ontdekt hebben is dat er nog genoeg te ontdekken valt, zelfs na een maand spelen. Deze tweede uitbreiding voor De Sims 3 is erg groot, zeker als je álles wilt ontdekken en uitvogelen!
Wij zijn in elk geval tot de conclusie gekomen dat het opnieuw een goede uitbreiding is die veel spelers zal aanspreken.

From the day we placed the first news about The Sims 3 Ambitions online at S3N, we saw a large amount of enthousiastic reactions, the likes of which we’ve never seen before. But can The Sims 3 Ambitions still meet this expectations, one month after its release?
A bit later than you are accustomed to at our site, we have a 5 page long review about The Sims 3 Ambitions for you. The main reason for this taking so long is the hugeness of this expansion. It contains so much new stuff and things, we really needed this amount of time to explore and test as much as possible for you.
The most important discovery is there is still much to discover, even after a month of playing this game. This second expansion to The Sims 3 is huge, especially if you want to discover and figure out everything!
In any case our main conclusion is, that the Sims 3 Ambitions once again is a great expansion, that will appeal to a lot of players.
De Sims 3 Ambities review op Gamesradar
One problem people will have with this expansion is the limited number of professions. They are a fantastic addition to the experience if you want a Sim who’s a stylist, but players who prefer other careers are forced to miss out. We guess it’s too hard to give the journalist profession exciting gameplay? Then again, if you pursue every profession until you master it, there’s quite a bit of gameplay here. It’s just that not all of it will appeal to everybody. The stylist profession will probably be divisive in that regard, especially when dealing with picky makeover clients.
All told, Ambitions makes a lot of sense as an expansion, and it does a ton of things right. It’s certainly one of the meatier expansions in the franchise’s history in terms of sheer gameplay benefits, but it may segment its audience a bit too much, as not every profession will be enjoyable for every player.

Ambitions adds other features, including subtle but helpful UI improvements, entertaining and lucrative new Inventing and Sculpting skills, a real-estate market to invest in, tattooing, plus all the extra clothes, hairstyles, traits and miscellaneous objects we’ve come to expect in a Sims expansion. They’re all uncomplicated additions, but Ambitions really gets what The Sims players love about the game, and does a superb job of giving them more of it.

De Sims 3: Ambities voert enkele vernieuwingen door op het gebied van de carrière van je Sims. Het levenspad van je Sim kan je nu vrijwel volledig volgen en voor de echte controlfreak maakt deze uitbreiding de originele titel nét wat completer. Toch zijn de veranderingen niet wereldschokkend en is Ambities wellicht enkel voor de fans nog interessant. Als we echter kijken naar voorgaande uitbreidingen binnen de franchise, dan kunnen we deze zeker rekenen tot één van de betere.
