L’Univers Sims heeft een preview online gezet van De Sims 3 Beestenbende. De preview bevat erg veel foto’s van de stad en nieuwe objecten in het spel, maar de tekst is wel Franstalig.

Tijdens de Gamescom 2011 in Keulen – Duitsland hebben een aantal internationale fansites een ‘behind closed doors’ presentatie van De Sims 3 Beestenbende bijgewoont gegeven door producer Graham Nardone. Hij liet ons het een en ander ingame zien en achteraf was er kort de tijd om vragen te stellen.
De presentatie had wat ons betreft wel 3 uur mogen duren, maar gelukkig konden we met enkele Sims Nieuws teamleden na de presentatie nog even De Sims 3 Beestenbende voor op de PC en console spelen. In deze preview zal ik jullie vertellen over wat wij allemaal gezien en gehoord hebben wat betreft de PC versie.
Conclusie tot nu toe
Ik moet toegeven dat De Sims 3 Beestenbende nog meer geeft dan ik had verwacht. Ik was ook heel bang om teleurgesteld te worden aangezien er erg hoge verwachtingen zijn, ook vanuit de community.
Maar niets is minder waar, De Sims 3 Beestenbende heeft mij versteld doen staan. Alhoewel er geen nieuwe doodsoorzaak is, geen nieuwe carrières en geen allergieën zijn, denk ik dat niemand teleurgesteld zal worden.
Ik kan nu al vol overtuiging zeggen dat De Sims 3 Beestenbende HOT is!

The neighbourhood is really great, a lot of work has been put into it and it really has proved itself to be a worthwhile play. The down side to this neighbourhood is its price, for what it has to offer, I feel that they could have made it much cheaper! Especially considering that it costs more than a Stuff Pack!!!
Overall the neighbourhood and default Sims are a 5 star rating! Price wise, I give it a big nay, and integration with The Sims 3 Pets – I can’t wait!

Elk jaar zorgt EA ervoor dat een stel fansites hun nieuwste games kunnen bekijken op de Gamescom 2011 voor die in de winkels liggen. Dit jaar waren dat, wat De Sims betreft, De Sims 3 Beestenbende en De Sims Middeleeuwen: Piraten en Adel.

PC: Horses, cats & dogs. You can also purchase small animals like chinchillas, lizards, snakes, turtles, squirrels, etc. and you can interact with them, but not control them directly.
Console: Cats & dogs.
Putting Pets to Work
PC: There are no ‘careers’ available for pets, but they can make money. Horses can be entered in races, dogs can perform trick shows and cats can hunt down rare animals.
Console: Animals can be enrolled in careers. For example, cats can be cemetery ghost hunters, dogs can enroll in the police force and both species can serve as therapy pets.
De Engelstalige Eurogamer heeft een leuke preview online gezet van De Sims 3 Beestenbende. De preview gaat niet alleen over de PC versie maar ook over de consoles versie. De moeite van het lezen meer dan waard dus.
At the core of the game is the need to build a relationship with your pets. Well-loved pets will sit on your lap or sleep on your bed. They can also help human Sims achieve their goals, perhaps by helping a lonely owner find love. Those playing the PC version, with its horses and stables, get an extra incentive here. Set in a rural Texan-style ranch town, rather than the coastal New England setting of the console game, training horses and taking part in equestrian competitions is a now a major gameplay strand and a legitimate way to earn money and happiness. Even if your horse is rainbow-coloured.
It’s also refreshing to see that the weird surreal streak that has run through the series, even dating back to the original Sim City, remains undimmed. Cats have the ability to hunt ghosts, while zombie bears, time travel and telekinesis all pull silly faces in the margins of the game. You’ll even be able to transform pets into people and vice versa, which should make the game a hit with the Furry community.

As its title might suggest, The Sims 3 Pets adds domesticated animals to the world of The Sims 3. In addition to a new town in which players can have their sims reside, the game gives them access to dogs, cats, and horses. The equines are unique to the PC version and will not be found in the console version of the game.
Unlike the previous Pets expansion for EA’s The Sims franchise (The Sims 2 Pets), players will be able to both interact with and play as the various pets in town.
“You can actually get into the head of being one of these three new pets in the game,” explained Vaughan. “And actually play life as a dog, a cat, or even a horse.”
While no new careers will be added to the game, new pet-specific skill-sets will be. For example, Sims that ride their horses a lot will find gains in the horsemanship skill. With a high enough skill level, that sim can then take part in competitions in the town’s equestrian center to try to win prize money. While not an official job, players could simply consider this as being a freelance horse rider.
The expansion will also add a number of new items to the game — most of which are pet-related such as doghouses, cat trees, and items for a corrall.
While The Sims 3 Pets is currenly in its ‘pre-alpha’ development stage, Electronic Arts has the expansion slated for release on or around October 18th.
