De Maxis Monthly was een idee van SimGuruKate om het gemis van de kwartaal teasers op te vangen en toch open naar de community te zijn. Al meteen bij de eerste Maxis Monthly werd de lat hoog gelegd door het terreingereedschap en de stijl influencer carrière te teasen.
Uiteraard waren er daardoor automatisch ook ‘minder interessante’ Maxis Monthly’s waarin simpelweg geen nieuwe content te tonen was. Daar gaat nu verandering in komen volgens SimGuruFrost, de opvolger van SimGuruKate, want de Maxis Monthly gaat voortaan enkel gebruikt worden om nieuwe (gratis) content voor het basisspel te tonen. Verwacht nog altijd geen teasers van nieuwe uitbreidingen tijdens de Maxis Monthly want daarvan is al een tijdje bekend dat zoiets niet gaat gebeuren.
Met het uitbrengen van deze informatie heeft SimGuruFrost tevens bevestigd dat er geen Maxis Monthly in augustus komt. Gezien het feit dat het nu zomervakantie is, komt die informatie niet geheel onverwachts, al krijgen we in ieder geval nog ergens in de zomer het Moschino accessoirespakket.

I want to provide an update regarding the monthly surveys you all have been filling out.
- First off, thank you to everyone who has filled out a survey. It’s very much appreciated even if you only completed it once! July’s is coming, but it’ll be late
- Second, a few changes to some of the questions especially regarding the community team, as a lot of players are not sure what we do.
- Third, it’s really cool to see what you guys are most interested in! Expansion packs are #1 (not surprised, hehe), More Base Game content is #2, bug fixes are #3, Game Packs are #4, and Stuff Packs are #5. Disclaimer: This doesn’t change Maxis’ current priorities but we like to know what you’re all interested in!
- Fourth, improving of Maxis Monthly. A lot of key words used were: new or upcoming, content, information, and interesting. We are going to continue hosting a Maxis Monthly livestream on Twitch ONLY when we have FREE new content coming to The Sims 4 base game.
Meaning if we have nothing new to show, there will no Maxis Monthly. Date/time/contents for Maxis Monthly will be communicated out ahead of time. We are also looking at upgrading various livestream elements including accessibility but that is still TBD/TBA.
We will also use Maxis Monthly as an opportunity to share info related to Maxis/The Sims franchise when appropriate. One thing to note is that not every Maxis Monthly will have new content for every type of player, example: terrain tools vs first person mode vs CAS stories.
Remember we are a large and diverse community with varying desires. Lastly, there will be no August Maxis Monthly because we do not have anything new to show right now. HOWEVER I am looking into something else that will hopefully tide everyone over for a time. Fingers crossed!
